Heavy rainfall in the Overstrand region in the Western Cape has led to localised flooding, particularly in the Hawston and Fisherhaven areas.
In a statement, the Overstrand Municipality says Disaster Management and operational teams worked into the early hours of this morning, providing temporary relief where possible.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a Yellow Level 4 warning of severe thunderstorms in parts of the province today, with heavy rainfall in the Overberg and Southern Cape Winelands early morning.
SAWS says this may lead to localised flooding and large amounts of small hail.
It says the heavy rain may cause major travel disruptions and can be aggravated with possible falling trees blocking major roads.
Weather outlook for Tuesday & Wednesday, 10 – 11 February 2026. Partly cloudy & warm to hot conditions will persist into the new week, with scattered to widespread showers & thundershowers possible over the central & eastern parts of RSA from the afternoon.#saws #weatheroutlook pic.twitter.com/7MroHB910W
