Five people have died and three others injured in car accident on the R-45 between Hopefield and Langebaanweg on the Western Cape.
The R-45 has been temporarily closed to traffic near the Elandsfontein Mine.

Traffic is being rerouted via Velddrif.
From Langebaanweg traffic is being redirected towards the R-27 West Coast Road.
