We didn’t expect comrade DD to die at this age: Magashule

African Congress for Transformation (ACT) leader Ace Magashule has paid his respects to former Deputy President David Mabuza, saying his passing was a shock.

Mabuza died yesterday at the age of 64.

He served as Deputy President from 2018 to 2023 under President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Magashule was at Mabuza’s family home in Bryanston Johannesburg earlier today to pass his condolences.

“So, DD was a human being. We could joke together. Maybe other people don’t know this part of DD. Simple human being, not just a political animal, as people want to wish. So, there will be many stories … others will say this and that.”

“For me as an African, as a comrade, as a person who worked with many comrades, death is death. All of us, one day we have to die. And it was a shock. We didn’t expect comrade DD to die at this age.”
