Western Cape Mobility Minister Isaac Sileku says it is important to celebrate the women who are the backbone of the freight industry.
Sileku says this month they are celebrating both female freight truck drivers and the wives and partners of drivers.
He says the freight industry is one of the essential components of the economy, but is often underappreciated.
Sileku says, “To the women who power our freight system, thank you. Whether you are behind the wheel, managing things at home or offering emotional support from afar, your contributions matter deeply. You carry the weight of sacrifice and service, and today, we honour your role in keeping the Western Cape moving.”
