Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero has made a commitment to residents of Westbury, Corronationville and surrounding areas, that water supply will be fully restored in the next seven days.
Since the early hours of Wednesday morning, disgruntled residents took to the streets to protest against the ongoing water outages in the area. They say for the last several years they have been experiencing water cuts on an almost daily basis.

Morero has addressed residents at a community hall in Corronationville.
“We are making a commitment that with all the interventions we are going to be implementing here, in the next seven days you will have full supply of water. To get the levels high that means we need another seven days, but we are saying to you, over and above (that), we are going to try to switch off other areas at night to try and push the water to try and reduce that seven days,” says Morero.
