Water restored to parts of Tshwane following repairs

The City of Tshwane has reported that water has begun flowing in certain areas after repairs were completed by Rand Water.

The disruption occurred on Wednesday due to a trip at Rand Water’s Palmiet Booster Pump Station, which led to widespread outages across the city.

City of Tshwane spokesperson Lindela Mashigo confirmed that areas such as Soshanguve, Mabopane and Ga-Rankuwa, supplied by the Hartebeesthoek reservoirs, are now receiving water.

However, Laudium and Atteridgeville systems are still offline, though they are expected to resume service soon.

“The Soshanguve L Reservoir is showing signs of increasing. This improvement is against a challenge of consumption while the distribution network is not fully pressured as yet,” says Mashigo.

He adds that some areas, including Mabopane Block C and The Reeds in Centurion, have already had their water restored.
