Residents of Ventersdorp in the North West are hopeful that service delivery challenges in the area will be addressed soon.

They held a peaceful march in town among others calling for the demerger of the JB Marks Local Municipality, who they say are not managing their affairs well.

They want the Ventersdorp and Potchefstroom Local Municipalities re-instated and handed over their memorandum of demands to a representative from the national Department of Cooperative Governance Loyiso Ncoko.

Ncoko promised to convey the message to the minister.

“We will convey the message to the minister together with the timelines that are being stipulated. I am just a messenger just to receive the memo so, I will make sure that as soon as I land in Pretoria, this matter will receive attention by the relevant units.”
