Police divers at the Hennops River in Centurion.
Police have found parts of a vehicle at the Hennops River in Centurion, but it can not be confirmed yet if they belong to the VW Polo car that the three deceased police officers were traveling in.
The bodies of the officers were retrieved from the river on Tuesday after they went missing for more than five days.
Constables Cebekhulu Linda, Keamogetswe Buys and Boipelo Senoge were traveling from the Free State to their deployment areas in Limpopo’s Waterberg and Capricorn districts as part of operation Vala Umgodi when they disappeared a week ago.
The police say they are investigating at this particular stage whether the parts of this vehicle may belong to the vehicle that these three police officers were travelling in.
The search for the car the officers were travelling in is ongoing.
Meanwhile, Police Minister, Senzo Mchunu is appealing to the public to refrain from speculating on what might have led to the deaths of three police constables.
