Residents and businesses in Pretoria’s CBD and surrounding areas are experiencing power outages as the City of Tshwane conducts urgent repairs at the Belle Ombre substation.
City spokesperson Selby Bokaba confirmed that several areas are affected, including Pretoria Central Business District, Sunnyside, Arcadia, Muckleneuk, Groenkloof, Marabastad, Pretoria West industrial areas, Capital Park, Daspoort, Pretoria Gardens, Hermanstad, Hercules, Innesdale, and Gezina.
“Residents are urged to always treat all apparatus as live,” Bokaba added, emphasizing safety precautions during the outage.
The city has not provided a timeline for the completion of the repairs but assured residents that updates would follow as work progresses.
