The death toll in the bus crash on the N2 in Mandeni, KwaZulu-Natal has risen to nine.
More than 60 passengers suffered injuries, ranging from critical to minor.
One of the deceased is a four-year-old child.
The bus is said to have crashed down an embankment after a tyre burst yesterday afternoon.
It was ferrying members of the Twelve Apostles in Trinity church, from Richards Bay to Shaka’s Kraal near KwaDukuza.
Rescuers worked for several hours to free some of the victims from the wreckage.
