UniVen to increase study programmes

The University of Venda (UniVen) in Limpopo says it will increase study programmes for students in 2030. The university has benefited from the Sibusiso Bhengu Infrastructure Grant earmarked for revitalising disadvantaged institutions of higher learning.

The university used the grant to build four major projects to the tune of R600m, including the Advanced Nursing Science Simulation Building.

Vice Chancellor Bernard Nthambeleni says civil and satellite engineering are among those that will be added to the programmes at the university.

“For the health sciences, it’s an area where we see some growth there. We want to grow the faculty, so the plan is that come next year, 2026-2027, we will be putting new departments, human anatomy, physiology and others. There are a lot of plans that we want to achieve when we close this term of enrollments, 2026-2030 enrollments plan,” he adds.
