The Presidency says preparations for the first National Convention of the National Dialogue process comply with the Public Finance Management Act.
The University of South Africa (UNISA) will host the first National Convention at no cost, providing venues, catering and other services.
In a statement, the Presidency says funding comes from existing NEDLAC and Presidency budgets, with some goods and services donated.

According to the Presidency, funding comes from existing NEDLAC and Presidency budgets, with additional goods and services donated.
Presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says costs are being minimised to reduce the burden on the fiscus.
“The reduced costs associated with the hosting of the national dialogue and the funding plan are done with the intention to reduce the costs to the fiscals. The presidency is committed to supporting the first national convention to kick-start the citizen-led and inclusive national dialogue. All procurement and management of public funds will adhere to the PFMA and applicable treasury regulations. All funds will be accounted for through the normal public finance mechanisms.”
