Local authorities at uMzumbe say they’re confident that police will make arrests soon in the New Year’s Eve attack in the KwaDweshula area near Port Shepstone.
Four alleged attackers are still at large after a deadly attack that left a 67-year-old woman, her 47-year-old son and two daughters in their 30s dead on Wednesday night.
Umzumbe Local Municipality Mayor Bongani Nyuswa says the community is still devastated by the incident and has reassured locals that they are working with the police to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended.
“We are very disturbed but at the same time we do have confidence in the police that these people will be brought to book. For those who were part of this, we will work very hard for them to be caught,” says Nyuswa.
