Two suspects have been wounded in a shootout with the police on the N2 highway in Cape Town, near the R300 bridge towards Strand.
Police spokesperson, Malcolm Pojie, says officers gave chase after spotting two suspicious vehicles. He says one of the vehicles had been reported stolen.
Pojie says the suspects opened fire on the police and attempted to flee on foot.
He says officers returned fire, wounding two suspects.
A further two suspects were apprehended. Pojie says the wounded suspects are under police guard in hospital.
