The 2026 Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon will be held in Cape Town this weekend.
The event features a 56-kilometre Ultra Marathon on Saturday and a 21.1-kilometre Half Marathon on Sunday.
Over 30 000 runners are expected to participate in the iconic event.
A new board has been appointed to improve race standards after last year’s disruptions.
SA FM producer Marumo Kekana, who will participate in the Saturday marathon, says: “Tomorrow will be my first marathon. What I can tell you is that a lot of preparation went into this. I was running about close to 200 kilometres a week consistently, so for the past over two months in preparing for this.”
He says, “Being the first one, I would just like to finish. In this case, you’ll have to finish by at a least seven hours, you need to have completed the 56 km. So if you qualified, it means you ran 42km under five hours, and this 56 km they give seven hours to complete, but look organisation-wise tiptop.”
