Two more charges could be added to ‘Cat’ Matlala, co-accused

Attempted murder accused Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala might face more charges after the state indicated that it would be centralizing two other cases in which the accused are implicated.

Matlala, along with his wife and two co-accused, appeared in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court in Johannesburg on charges of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, fraud and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

They allegedly conspired and attempted to kill Matlala’s former partner Tebogo Thobejane in 2023.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane the case has been postponed to August 26

“The Alexandra Magistrate’s Court postponed the case against Vusi Matlala and three others to 26 August 2025 for centralization of two other dockets that were received from Pretoria and for processes to transfer the matter to the high court.”
