Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a KwaDukuza Local Municipality official Nokulunga Happiness Mashabane at the end of June.
The 31-year old Mashabane’s body was found inside her vehicle along the Zinkwazi Link Road in the early hours of the morning.
A private security firm worked with the police in making the breakthrough in the case.
KwaZulu-Natal Police Spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says Mashabane had gunshot wounds to the head.
“An intensive investigation by KwaDukuza police detectives working together with private security has led to the arrest of a husband. Police investigations also connected a second suspect to the crime and he was also traced and arrested. The two suspects were arrested on Wednesday 30 July 2025. The investigation team from KwaDukuza took over investigations and worked around the clock, leaving no stone unturned as they searched for clues and leads, which culminated in the arrest of the two suspects,” says Mashabane.
The two men are expected to appear in the KwaDukuza Magistrates Court on Friday.
