An accident scene
Two people have been killed and several others injured in separate crashes in Durban.
Earlier on Saturday morning, a man in his thirties died after the vehicle he was travelling in collided with another car in the Durban CBD.
Three other people from both vehicles were injured and treated at the scene before being taken to hospital for further medical care.
Meanwhile, on Friday night, a motorcyclist was killed on the northbound M4 Northern Freeway after reportedly losing control of the bike and crashing.
ALS paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says police are investigating both incidents.
“Just after 5am on Saturday morning, ALS Paramedics arrived on scene to find chaos and carnage. Two vehicles had collided in the junction before one overturned coming to rest on its roof. Multiple casualties were found and immediately, more ambulances as well as Advanced Life Support Paramedics were dispatched to assist.”
Jamieson adds: “Once triaged, paramedics found a passenger from the overturned vehicle, a male believed to be in his thirties had sustained major injuries and unfortunately, there was nothing paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene. The scene was cordoned off by Metro Police for investigation.”
