A police officer was killed during a robbery in Springs.
Two people arrested for killing a police officer in Springs in Ekurhuleni will be back in a local Magistrate’s Court next Thursday.
Nthuthuzelo Mana and Benjamin Ntuli appeared in court yesterday and the matter was postponed.
They are accused of gunning down Captain Wynand Du Toit who was attached to Springs SAPS.
The incident happened on Sunday, during a robbery at a supermarket in Geduld.
HAWKS spokesperson Thatohatsi Mavimbela says, “Captain du Toit was shot and killed on Sunday the 16th during a robbery at the supermarket in Geduld, Springs. The pair made their first appearance at the Springs Magistrate’s Court. Mana is currently in hospital and appeared in absentia. The matter has been postponed to Thursday, the 27th of February, for further investigations.”
