Tshwane residents urged to heed weather warnings

The City of Tshwane Emergency Services Department has issued an advisory to residents for a Yellow Level 2 warning.

This after the South African Weather Services warned that severe thunderstorms are expected tonight and tomorrow posing risks of localised flooding in low-lying areas, informal settlements and vulnerable roads.

The department spokesperson Lindsay Mnguni elaborates: “Residents are encouraged to monitor the warnings and alerts issued by the South African Weather Service and other credible sources and to immediately follow the recommended safety tips. We further call on residents to be vigilant and to immediately report any fire or rescue incident.”
