Tshwane deputy police chief denies approving Gubis85 contract


Tshwane Metro Deputy Police chief, Commissioner Sean Bolhuis has testified at the Madlanga Commission that he never gave permission for allocation of work to Gubis85 Solutions.

Gubis85 solutions is one of three security companies that is being investigated for alleged irregular tender procurement.

Evidence before the Commission has also revealed that Gubis85 solutions got the bulk of a security tender in the city.

Bolhuis has testified that suspended Tshwane CFO Gareth Mnisi and suspended deputy police chief Umashi Dlamini communicated through Sergeant Fannie Nkosi about the purchase orders relating to Gubis85 solutions.

“The purchase orders created out of this process were registered on the TMPD system on the following day, 6 March 2025. These included purchase orders for ad hoc services ostensibly procured from Gubs 85 Solutions PTY Limited in the aggregate amount of R13 635 133,60.”
