Limpopo Premier Phophi Ramathuba paid tribute to Dikeledi Magadzi earlier today as she delivered a eulogy to the late former Deputy Minister of Transport.
Magadzi passed away last Sunday, at the age of 75 and has been accorded a Special Provincial Official Funeral Category Two. She was buried at Silicon Cemetery.
Ramathuba described Magadzi as a visionary who laid the foundation that the provincial government continues to build on. Ramathuba said Magadzi connected the marginalized to the government, ensuring much-needed engagement and collaboration.
Premier Ramathuba adds that she will remember Magadzi‘s professionalism, which she will continue to emulate in her honour.
“We mourn her loss, yet we celebrate the legacy she left behind. Today, we honour Miss Dikeledi Phillistus Magadzi not just as a remarkable leader but also as a master builder whose hands shaped the very landscape of our beautiful province, Limpopo. Like a skilled weaver, she meticulously interlaced the vision and compassion into a fabric of our province, creating a tapestry rich with opportunities and hope,” says Ramathuba.

Polokwane Executive Mayor John Mpe has described the late former Deputy Minister of Transport Dikeledi Magadzi, as a struggle icon, citing her contribution to the democratic dispensation. Mpe was giving the opening address at Magadzi’s funeral, held at the Jack Botes Hall in Polokwane, Limpopo.
Mpe says Magadzi’s legacy in governance shall live on.
“As a nation we have paused to celebrate the life of a woman whose contribution to our democracy and the struggle for our freedom. She was both enduring amd exemplary. Today we are not only saying to resta respect leader but we are also affirming the legacy of principled leadership public service and unwavering commitment to the ideas of the African National Congress,” says Mpe.
