The trial of the three accused in the theft of millions of Rands in foreign currency at President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala Farm in Bela-Bela, Limpopo, is set to start at the Modimolle Regional Court.
The accused, Immanuela David and siblings Floriana and Ndilinasho Joseph, have been charged for the February 2020 break-in and theft at the farm.
A few months ago, the trial was postponed to Monday to give Floriana time to attend to her pregnancy.
The trial has been set for two days this week. It will be heard on Monday and Wednesday. Thereafter, it will be heard next week.
The state claims to have lined up 23 witnesses. According to the state, cell phone mapping is the only evidence that requires a technical aspect.
The accused, David and Joseph siblings, broke into Ramaphosa’s farm and stole over $580 000 dollars that had been hidden in a sofa.
