Travellers frustrated with long queues and delay at Lebombo border

Frustrated travellers waiting in the long queues at the Lebombo Border Post to cross into Mozambique are accusing the Border Management Authority (BMA) of their delays at the border.

Hundreds of travellers and Mozambican nationals are queuing in and outside the premises of the border as they await processing to be able to go enjoy their festive holidays at home.

Many of them are in the country for work, while some say they are operating businesses.

One of the travellers, France Magaya, says there are inadequate staff members to deal with the influx of travellers.

“We can’t use the same roads and a small road for the trucks and people travelling together, you see. That is why we are getting too many breakdowns because the car is getting hot, we are burning the clutch because the car is not going anywhere, we staying in one place. If they close here, my car is going to be in danger. If you can as an officer have six people, how many people are you going to service?”
