Traffic to surge on R71 as ZCC pilgrims depart Easter conferences

The Polokwane Municipality Traffic Police say they anticipate increased volumes on the R71 between Moria and Polokwane as the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) and Saint Engenas ZCC pilgrims are expected to start departing from the Easter conferences.

Traffic police assistant manager, Reginald Ramporo says they will be maintaining high visibility.

Ramporo is appealing to motorists and pedestrians along the R71, which has attracted hawkers, to be cautious.

“Please exercise caution on the public road, do not drink and drive as that is one of the factors why we are having lots of fatalities and it is avoidable only if we exercise precaution. We are saying it does not pay to drink and to be on the public road because you are going to affect even the innocent road users, so be the agent of change and prioritise road safety,” says Ramporo.
