Traffic surges on R71, N1 as ZCC congregants depart Moria

The Limpopo Transport Department says traffic officials are visible on all major routes. It says they are implementing operations which include patrols and roadblocks.

This as traffic increases on the R71 linking Moria and Polokwane as well as the N1.

Congregants of the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) and Saint Engenas ZCC started to depart from Moria on Sunday night after attending the Easter conferences.

The department’s head Steven Matjena says, “Traffic volumes are going to be very high. So, we really make a serious call to them to say be patient, share the road, be cautious at all times, and in the main, inspect your vehicle before taking trips, don’t drink and drive, take constant rest, especially those that are going to be traveling long distances because fatigue on its own is a silent killer.”
