Motor trade sales increased by 3,1% year on year in June 2025.
In the second quarter of 2025, motor trade sales increased by 2,5%, the positive contributor to this increase were new vehicle sales
The other positive contributors are sales of accessories and used vehicle sales.
The largest negative contributor has been workshop income and fuel sales.
Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales were flat in June compared with May 2025.
This followed month on month changes of 0.2% in May and 0% in April.
According to Stats SA, measured in real terms, vehicle sales have been constant since 2019.
