The mother of 11-year-old Jayden-Leek Meek has been charged with his murder at the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court.
The Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court in western Johannesburg will continue the bail hearing for the woman accused of killing her eleven-year-old son, Jayden-Lee Meek.
Meek claims that she has been framed. Her lawyer, Noven Naidoo is expected to deliver closing arguments.
Last Friday, Naidoo referred to a video showing a sniffer-dog tracing a scent from the accused’s apartment to another apartment, which was not searched.
Naidoo asked, “Were there any other dogs called to the scene? Or only one dog? There is no other record of the dog unit that was called by any other police so there’s a video that a unit dog with a dog handler, the dog itself in a complete video stating that the scent was taken to another flat besides the accused flat, that would be a true recollection of the evidence that you were not aware of? Is it the same dog?”
Magistrate: No, what you are doing is you are trying to put the assumptions made by Miss Solomon and her understanding of what happened as fact.”
