Tiffany Meek back in Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court

Tiffany Meek, the woman accused of murdering her 11-year-old son Jayden-Lee, is expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning.

Meek was denied bail in July, after failing to convince the court that her release would be fair or in the interests of justice.

During the bail hearing, the state argued that Meek killed her son and attempted to cover it up.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane says the court is expected to be updated on the progress of the investigation.

“The case will be back in court on the 17th of September 2025. We’ve requested the postponement as the state needs to conclude the investigation. So we are hoping that much of the outstanding statements that the investigating officer talked about during the bail application stage would have been collected so that we can then move forward. We will also be awaiting the decision of the office of the director of Public Prosecution about the way the trial will be held.”-Reporting by Lerato Makola
