Three shops gutted in Johannesburg CBD fire, EMS investigating

Three shops have been gutted by a fire in Johannesburg. Firefighters responded to the  incident at the corner of Bree and Small streets in the city center. Emergency Services officials say no injuries have been reported.

Johannesburg EMS spokesperson Xolile Khumalo says the cause of the fire is being investigated.

“The fire destroyed three shops trading in cellphone accessories, cigarettes and rubber bands. EMS would like to caution business owners in central Johannesburg to ensure the separation of merchandise to reduce fire risks.”
