Three Phala Phala farm theft accused back in Modimolle court

The Modimolle regional court in Limpopo is expected to continue with the trial of three people accused in the February 2020 theft of a large amount of  US dollars from President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm.

A cell phone screening expert is expected to testify.

Immanuela David and the Joseph siblings, Floriana and Ndilinasho, allegedly broke into the farmhouse and stole over 580 000 US dollars that had been hidden in a couch.

In the previous sitting, David’s ex-girlfriend told the court he bought her a Mercedes-Benz vehicle as a surprise gift.

The vehicle costs more than R1.5 million. The ex-girlfriend, however, says the vehicle was taken when they broke up in 2021.

The media has been ordered not to identify state witnesses.

David also bought himself a property in the North West as well as expensive jewellery.

He has been in custody since his arrest in November 2023.
