Three Phala Phala farm theft accused back in court

The three people accused of stealing 580 000 US dollars from President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm will be back at the Modimolle Regional Court in Limpopo today.

In the previous hearing, the state’s 21st witness testified.

The theft happened in February 2020.

The investigating officer is expected to continue on the witness stand.

The officer has obtained the statements from the witnesses, including one state witness who was declared a hostile witness by the court.

The witness was declared hostile after giving contradictory evidence. He told the court that police forced him to sign a confession statement, which was disputed by the investigating officer.
