Three people gunned down in Eastern Cape mass shooting

Three people have been killed and two others injured in a mass shooting in Tshapile village outside eNgcobo, Eastern Cape, last night.

According to reports, the deceased were preparing for a funeral for this coming weekend, when unknown heavily armed gunmen opened fire.

Dr. AB Xuma Municipality Mayor, Siyabulela Zangqa, has expressed shock at the incident and appealed to the police to leave no stone unturned in their investigation.

“I want to express my heartfelt condolences to the families that have lost their loved ones and wish a speedy recovery, and for those that have been admitted to All Saints Hospital.”

“I’m appealing to all members of the community to remain calm, and appeal to the SAPS (South African Police Service) to make sure they do everything in their power and apprehend these criminals and bring them to book,” Zangqa explains.
