The South African Police Service (SAPS) has arrested three more suspects in the case of former sergeant Rachel Kutumela in Polokwane, Limpopo.
They say they plan to arrest a total of seven suspects on Tuesday.
Kutumela, her sister Anna Shokane and daughter Florah Shokane are accused of killing nine people for financial gain, targeting vulnerable people for insurance pay-outs.
The trial against the suspects is expected to be heard in the High Court this year.
The case is similar to that of Nomia Ndlovu, a former police officer who was convicted of killing six people.
