Three constables praised by superiors at memorial service

2 minutes

Thabure Unit Commander Brigadier, SP Kubheka says Constables Keamogetswe Buys and Cebekhulu Linda had special skills necessary for the division when they joined it last year in July.

He spoke at a joint memorial service for three constables, whose bodies were retrieved from the Hennops River in Centurion, Pretoria last week.

Kubheka says Buys was placed at the Cyber Unit because of her IT qualifications, while Linda, whose father was a former police officer, was placed in security intelligence.

He says, “These two colleagues they were very humble. When you look at Buys, she was always bubbly always smiling, you could say she was always a darling. When you look at Linda, I used to say to Linda ‘you only here’ fortunately by then I had an office where he worked right under my nose and I would tell him that now that you are here, you raising the flag for your family, for your father who was a police member, who was a very nice gentleman. I would even tell him that the reason I love you is the love of cars that you have. He loved cars, and I would say sell me this Jetta 2 and he would refuse. So even what he was driving it was not just a surprise.”

True soldier

Sea Relief Unit Commander, Constable Mkhetho described Constable Boipelo Senoge as a true soldier and someone who brought light and happiness in her unit at work.

He also described Senoge as a bubbly person and very energetic.

Mkhetho says, “I’ve learnt that happiness is one thing that is very important as a person. You need to be happy at all times. If you’re not happy try to make sure that you do things that will make you happy.”

He says, “This is what I have learnt from her, she was very happy at all time. She actually joined our shift last year, I think around July that’s where she started working in this shift.”
