Third teacher dies after Ntabankulu Primary School shooting


The third educator in the shooting incident at Ntabankulu Primary School in the Eastern Cape has succumbed to her injuries.

It’s alleged that the school’s former Deputy Principal went to the school yesterday and started shooting randomly at educators before turning the gun on himself.

The 52-year-old man was dismissed for alleged sexual assault of learners.

He and another educator died at the scene, while two others passed away later in hospital.

Police Spokesperson Nobuntu Gantana, says, “The names of the deceased will be released once all next-of-kin notifications have been formally completed. The investigation has now been revised to the following case classifications: Three counts of murder. One inquest docket. The SAPS extends its most heartfelt and sincere condolences to the families, friends, colleagues, and the entire school community devastated by this profound loss.”
