Tankers to service areas affected by Rand Water’s maintenance

Joburg Water says water tankers will be made available to all areas affected by infrastructure maintenance work from today until Wednesday.

The maintenance by Rand Water will affect the Eikenhof and Zwartkopies bulk water supply systems, which supplies water across the City of Johannesburg.

Joburg Water spokesperson Nombuso Shabalala says residents may experience poor pressure to no water during the maintenance period.

“Affected Johannesburg water systems include, Soweto, Randburg, Roodepoort, Lenasia, Crown Garderns, the Commando system, which comprises Brixton, Hursthill and Crosby, Aeroton, Naturena. Once the maintenance is completed, it will take several days to fully recover and for normal water services to return.”
