Table Mountain Park warns of congestion during lunar eclipse


Table Mountain National Park is cautioning visitors to observe safety measures as many will converge at vantage points of the mountain for the viewing of the lunar eclipse, this weekend.

The so called “blood moon” is expected to occur at 23h00 on Sunday night.

Spokesperson, JP Louw says congestion and heavy traffic is expected around Lion’s Head, Signal Hill and Kloof Corner of Table Mountain where visibility is expected to be optimal.

The total lunar eclipse or Blood Moon is when the moon turns red as Earth passes between the moon and the sun.

No glasses or filters are needed for to watch the blood moon.
