T20 World Cup a fresh start for Proteas: Rabada

Proteas fast bowler Kagiso Rabada says this year’s edition of ICC’s Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, is a fresh start for the South African team.

The Proteas lost to India in the previous final in the USA, two years ago.

South Africa has been drawn in Group D, the so-called group of death alongside Canada, New Zealand, Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates.

They get their campaign under way with a match against the Canadians in Ahmedabad on Monday.

Rabada says, “So yeah, the plain and simple of it all is this a news tournament. However, or rather, you do need to, you do look at what you’ve done in the past and see it as motivation. However, moving forward, we need to understand that this is a completely new tournament at different venues and against opposition that are maybe slightly different with game plans.”
