Poland’s Iga Swiatek waits for Denmark’s Clara Tauson to serve the ball in fourth round play at IGA Stadium in Montreal, QC, Canada on August 3, 2025.
Poland’s tennis player Iga Swiatek won 10 of the last 13 games to beat Kazakhstani Elena Rybakina 7-5, 6-3 to reach her first Cincinnati Open final.
The third seed had her hands full in the early stages of the 98-minute match but took advantage of a dip in Rybakina’s form to win four consecutive games to wrap up the first set before easing through the second.
Swiatek, who won her first Wimbledon title last month, will meet Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in Tuesday’s final.
Paolini was a 6-3, 6-7,6-3 winner over unseeded Russian Veronika Kudermetova.
The Cincinnati Open is the final warm-up event for the US Open, starting in New York later this month.
