Police have confirmed that the six dockets found during the raid of suspended Sergeant Fannie Nkosi’s house last Thursday were illegally in his possession.
Nkosi appeared at the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court earlier on Tuesday, where his case was postponed to next Monday, 13 April, for a bail application.
Nkosi is facing a string of charges, which include defeating the ends of justice, theft, possession of illegal ammunition, as well as failure to secure firearms and ammunition.
“The six dockets (are) CIT robberies, one that was in Roodepoort, one in Musina, Limpopo, two other car hijacking cases. All of the dockets pertain to serious and violent crimes, and upon further investigation, all these six dockets, when you look at the system, they are closed as undetected. So, what it means, when you close it as undetected, you cannot find any links … there is no new information, and then the case is closed and archived. So, when a docket is archived, it is not allowed to be in possession of an investigating officer,” says Police Spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe.
