The two men arrested in connection with the mass shooting at a local tavern in Pienaar, east of Mbombela are expected to apply for bail at the Kabokweni Magistrates’ Court near White River in Mpumalanga.
Six people were fatally shot, while six others were wounded and two succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
Mduduzi Lubisi and Bongani Nkosi are facing eight counts of murder, two attempted murder, robbery and possession of unlicenced firearms.
Seven of the eight victims were laid to rest in different places over the weekend, while one victim has still not been claimed.
