A private company Saam Sokolo Security says six people have been arrested in connection with the murder of five community patrollers in Pretoria.

The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday while the Community Policing Forum members were patrolling the Marry Me informal settlement in Soshanguve in northern Pretoria.

Seven other people were wounded and are receiving medical treatment.

The company’s CEO Kgothatso Ramautswa says police are investigating the incident.

” We are engaging the community to get the true information because these people are well known troublemakers within society. So, our guys are on the ground on a daily basis to make sure that they trace these perpetrators. And then the investigation is still under way. Those six that were arrested, the police are busy with them and we were given the model of the car, so we are still in search of that particular transportation.”
