Suspect linked to mass shooting in Reiger Park arrested


A suspect linked to the drive-by mass shooting incident last weekend in Reiger Park in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, has been arrested.

Police say the 23-year-old suspect was apprehended on Monday following an investigation by the Anti-Gang unit.

Six people were killed including three women and three others were injured.

The suspect is set to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Police Spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Fred Kekana has welcomed the arrest.

“The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the Police in Gauteng, Major General Fred Kekana, has welcomed the arrest of a 23-year-old man suspected to be involved in the drive-by mass shooting incident that occurred in Reiger Park this past Saturday. The suspect was arrested on the night of 3 November 2025 following investigations conducted by the anti-gang unit. He is expected to appear before the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on 5 November 2025,” says Nevhuhulwi.
