Mamelodi Sundowns has suffered their first defeat of the 2025/2026 season.
Sundowns lost 1-nil to Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban earlier Wednesday.
This was Arrows’ first win against Sundowns since 2019.
The only goal of the match was scored by Junior Dion from the Ivory Coast in the first half.
This was an opportunity for Premier Soccer League defending champions Sundowns to return to the summit of the log in coach Miguel Cardoso’s 50th match for the team in all competitions since joining the club in December.

The hosts, Golden Arrows, playing under former Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi, showed little respect for their more fancied opponents from the first whistle.
Even the introduction of new signing from Portugal Nuno Santos for Mamelodi Sundowns failed to change the complexion of the game for the visitors.
Bafana Bafana and Sundowns captain Ronwen Williams produced two brilliant saves in injury time to deny Arrows from extending their lead.
