Studying abroad can open up greater possibilities for an individual’s job prospects here at home and internationally.
But, South Africans considering this need to be cognisant of the monetary costs involved.
However, in the long run, the benefits of international study are likely to heavily outweigh the costs incurred.
Sable International’s Megan Williams says, “In the United Kingdom and United States we are looking at around 15 000 to 20 000 pounds (R400 000) per year whereas Europe is slightly cheaper, you are looking at 13 000 euros a year, that’s about R250 000 in rand terms.”
