President Cyril Ramaphosa has reassured Durban’s business community that the Presidential eThekwini Working Group is making strides to improve service delivery, to create an environment for creating jobs and doing business.
The group was set up in February to address pressing service delivery issues in the eThekwini Metro.
Erratic and unreliable water and electricity have been some of the most pressing challenges that the city is facing.
Speaking at a business dinner in Durban, Ramaphosa says while the city is seeing improvements, more work is yet to be done.
“I know that in the last six months you have focused on efforts on building momentum with a particular aim of positioning eThekwini as an investment and tourism hub. Once again. improvements in water supply will be gained on non- revenue water and a rollout of a city-wide water reduction campaign.”
