South African wonder woman Gerda Steyn has won the iconic Two Oceans Marathon on the Cape Peninsula for a sixth consecutive time.

The 35-year-old from Bothaville in the Free State completed the 56-kilometer race in three hours, 29 minutes, and 10 seconds, her third-fastest time ever.

She completed the distance in 8 minutes and 40 seconds ahead of Shelmith Muriuki of Kenya.

Steyn will pocket R250 000 for the win but missed out on another course record by just more than two minutes, which would’ve earned her another quarter of a million rand.

Lesotho’s Khoarahlane Seutloali won the men’s race in three hours, 10 minutes, and 46 seconds, crossing the finish line 31 seconds ahead of South Africa’s Siboniso Sikhakhane, with Lucky Mohale in third place.
