Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steehuisen has confirmed that he will contest for the leadership of the party as he approaches the end of his term next year.
Speculation has been rife that some influential people in the DA are pushing for his candidacy for a third term.
Steenhuisen says he respects the work done by the party over the years and he would like to continue to lead.
He was speaking on the sidelines of the party’s 25th birthday celebrations at Hanover Park on the Cape Flats.
