The National Prosecuting Authority(NPA)’s Investigating Directorate Against Corruption have arrested two former state security members on charges relating to the misappropriation of almost R6 million in state funds.
The two suspects made their first court appearance at the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court yesterday.
Ntshavheni Makhathana was granted R100 000 bail while Matome Ralebipi was granted R150 000 bail.
In a statement, the spokesperson of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption(IDAC), Henry Mamothame, says that the suspects are facing charges of theft for personal gain after misusing funds allocated to the SSA between 2007 and 2010.
The matter was postponed to the 23rd of June.
